Every woman has some secret habits she doesn’t like to admit to.
Quick mirror checks

Looking in a storefront window, car mirror, dark smartphone screen, or even a reflective elevator door provides the perfect chance for a quick look at one’s appearance. Women want to see if their hair is neat, their clothes look okay, or maybe they have something lodged in their teeth.
Usually it’s such a quick look that no one is any the wiser. If someone catches them, they may even pretend they were looking at something else.
Online detective

Before heading out for a new date, a reunion, or to reconnect with an old acquaintance, some women will do some online detective work. It begins innocently enough, with them taking a quick look at their social media profiles.
But soon they’ll find themselves scrolling through years of pictures, mutual connections, and old posts. They can discover bits and pieces the individual hasn’t revealed on their own.
Mental rehearsals

Women often play conversations in their heads before they actually happen. If they’re going to confront someone or talk about something that might make them uncomfortable, they think of every little thing the other person will say. Then they come up with what they’ll say in return.
They’ll even find themselves hashing things out in the shower or while driving alone. It’s funny how the actual chat never quite unfolds as anticipated, and those witty retorts they concocted end up going unsaid.
The favorite bra

Every woman owns multiple bras but has one favorite that she wears way more than the others. It’s comfortable and fits well. It works with almost anything on. Pretty bras or expensive ones sit at the bottom of the drawer. As long as it’s clean and still offers support, the favorite continues to win. It’s nearly impossible to find another that feels just like it does.
Imaginary scenarios

A short conversation, an accidental compliment or even an embarrassing encounter can set off a whole imaginary narrative. Women might fantasize about how a conversation will go the next time they see someone or re-live a situation with a new, happier ending. Some daydreams involve winning an argument from three years ago.
Wardrobe secrets

Everyone has that one pair of jeans/dress/skirt in their wardrobe that doesn’t fit comfortably. Some people keep it because it was expensive or sentimental, or because they think they might fit into it one day. Others refuse to let it go because they love it so much.
Most of the time, it’s tucked away at the very bottom of the closet, appearing when they organize clothing, but it never seems to leave. Soon enough, it stops being an article of clothing and starts being a memory.
Story viewers

Women will post a pic or status and then secretly scroll through to see who’s looked at it. They could have a specific person in mind, an ex, recent friend, etc. While some women might profess indifference to social media’s allure, their curiosity often gets the best of them.
Hidden treats

It feels indulgent to have a secret stash of chocolate, favorite cookies or a bag of chips hidden away in a drawer. Many women stash food where their kids, husbands or roommates can’t find it right away.
They aren’t necessarily trying not to share with others. Often, they just want something they can count on being there. Nothing is worse than craving a favorite treat and finding someone finished it.
The smell test

Women aren’t putting everything they wear into the laundry basket after one wear. A quick sniff of a sweater, jeans, or jacket sometimes prompts a decision about re-wearing. If it passes the smell test and it isn’t covered in dirt, it may get worn again. It also saves washing when it isn’t needed and prolongs the life of clothes.
Mirror practice

Many women try on smiles, angles and expressions in the mirror before a big event or picture. They practice looking natural, confident or pleasantly surprised. It typically ends when someone walks into the room. After all, it’s a little embarrassing to explain why you’ve been smiling at yourself for five minutes.
Remembered compliments

Give someone a sincere compliment and it can linger in their thoughts far longer than you will ever know. Women will sometimes replay nice things said about their looks, personality, job, or skills in their heads, especially ones that came out of the blue. They might never tell you how great it made them feel, but it’s a confidence booster they remember on tough days.
Avoiding small talk

Meeting someone you know at the grocery store isn’t always a pleasant experience. Occasionally a woman will see someone she’d rather avoid talking to and she’ll suddenly take an interest in the pasta sauce options. Perhaps she’ll switch sides of the aisle, fiddle with her phone, or take a long way around to the register. It’s not intended as impoliteness; often, she just lacks the energy for a chat.
Saved screenshots

Some women screenshot joke texts, sweet nothings, confusing conversations, or conversations they want to remember. Sometimes screenshots are sent to friends for advice. Sometimes they stay hidden in the photo album, buried under hundreds of other pictures. They can become unintentional collections of friendships, relationships, and memories.
Alone-time bliss

Sometimes women secretly enjoy that fleeting moment when everyone else is gone from the house. They can eat junk food, watch a guilty pleasure show, take a long shower or just sit quietly doing nothing. Nobody to quiz with questions or entertain with conversation. Even women who love their families and friends can enjoy having the house all to themselves.
