A rich person’s home is usually made of a bunch of outrageous things, and not just things like a diamond-covered toilet. Nope, they have a bunch of regular stuff that often costs much more than it needed to. Let’s look at ten things people buy that prove they have more money than sense. Which one is the most shocking to you?

Branded water bowls for dogs

There are some people who decide to put their golden retrievers on a luxury homeware diet, which means that a plain white dog bowl just isn’t enough. Nope, it has to be ceramic and branded, perhaps even monogrammed, too. You’ll see rich people with bowls that cost more than the dinner plates in the same kitchen. But all that goes in them is tap water or kibble.
Multiple identical phone chargers for every room

Nobody likes searching for a charger, but there’s something rather silly about having the exact same $30 fast-charging cable in every room. They’re plugged in and waiting in the kitchen, pantry, home office, and even in the bathroom. At this point, this kind of person doesn’t really care about being prepared. They just figured that nobody said they couldn’t, so they did it.
Signing up for luxury meal kits with pre-cut veggies

Some people buy pre-packaged meal sets that arrive in a chilled box. They don’t chop anything, and they don’t even really cook. Instead, they simply follow a card and heat stuff up, which gives them dinner forty bucks later. But they could just cut them all themselves.
Hoarding limited edition sneakers

A few buyers refuse to wear sneakers, and they’ll merely admire them instead. They’ll never throw away the box, and the tags always stay on the shoes, which are kept on a shelf or in a closet. Meanwhile, the owner wears worn-out trainers to work, and they’ll claim the shoes are “an investment.”
Decorative baskets that serve no actual function

Many people collect big, empty floor baskets that were clearly never meant to hold anything, which is why they don’t get used for storage. However, they won’t even touch these baskets because they’re simply there to fill a corner. Most people buy them during a “home refresh” phase that lasts about two hours.
Monthly deliveries of expensive bottled water

Some water bottle subscriptions will send imported bottles to your house for the low, low price of $100 a month. It’s sparkling mineral water that’s apparently still but crisp. Whatever that means. But the truth is that their tap water is fine. All they’re doing is paying extra for hydration when there’s really no need to do so.
A drawer full of artisanal candles

No matter how many times they claim those candles are for when guests come over or for the right mood, you’ll see that no flame ever touches those wicks. Instead, they just have a drawer packed with carefully named scents that are waiting for a moment that never comes. Rich people without sense will buy more and more without using a single one, just to have them.
Driving a luxury SUV for three blocks at a time

Don’t be surprised if you see a $90,000 SUV parked at the same grocery store every other day, three blocks from the owner’s house. It’s not there for road trips or for dealing with the snow, despite the fact that it has everything you could need from a car, like a heated steering wheel or panoramic sunroof. But none of it matters because the car never leaves the zip code.
Stocking up on skincare

At some point, buying skincare becomes the actual skincare routine, as some rich people buy all kinds of serums for glow and creams for tightening. While their bathroom shelves are packed, none of these products make it to their face. Half the bottles are unopened. However, they’ll get a new one every time they see one on offer because it’s almost like an addiction.
Electric wine openers

Electric wine openers look great, especially the ones that light up. But in some homes, they sit next to three unopened bottles of wine that’ve been there since 2021 because nobody drinks very often. These rich people buy them for the status and ease when they do drink, yet they’re mostly sitting on the shelves.
