It feels like there’s another recall notice every time you turn around. Electric ranges have been acting up & pressure cookers have been causing problems across Canada. What kitchen and home products have been recalled recently? That’s what we’re going to find out.
Ninja Foodi pressure cookers

The Ninja Foodi OP300-series pressure cooker was recalled across North America, including by Canadian & American authorities. The recall came after reports that the lids would unlock under high pressure.
There were over a hundred cases of burns in the United States. No injuries were reported in Canada, but there were at least five cases of lids opening during use.
LG electric ranges with front knobs

LG’s electric ranges were recalled in early 2025 after customers reported that the stoves with front-facing knobs switched on too easily as people walked by them or brushed them. Health Canada stated that over 137,000 units were sold over the last few years.
They also stated there were eight recorded incidents with the knobs in Canada, along with two minor injuries that caused a cut & a burn.
Cosco 2-step kitchen stepper

Mid-2025 saw the recall of the Cosco kitchen stepper, a kind of foldable stool with safety bars. But the bars sometimes detached while people were using them & caused a few users to suffer from head injuries. Regulators flagged several models as being unsafe.
These included the 11349WHG1E, 11349GRN1E, 11349NVY1E, 11349WHG2, 11349GRN4, 11349GRN12, 11349WHG12C, 11349WHG12W, 11349WHG4F & 11349CBWH4T batches.
GFCI safety outlets from Home Hardware

Loose screws can cause serious problems. That’s exactly why officials recalled certain Electrical Devices GFCI outlets, as a few terminal screws didn’t tighten properly on the 3666-035 (15 A, three-pack), 3666-036 (15 A, single), & 3666-037 (20 A, single) models.
There were at least 800 reports of loose screws, along with one fire.
Drinkmate 1-litre carbonation bottles

The Drinkmate’s 1-litre PET bottle was recalled after reports that the bottle could explode during use. This could cause impact & lacerations, as well as hearing damage, to users.
The recall covered bottles with expiration dates from January 2026 to October 2026. The bottles caused at least one breakage incident in Canada.
KidKraft Farm to Table play kitchen

Who would’ve thought a play kitchen could cause so many problems? Both Health Canada & the CPSC recalled the KidKraft Farm to Table play kitchen due to hooks on the front dowel possibly snagging clothing and tipping over.
The affected model was numbered 53411 and had the UPC codes 706943534113, 706943010228 & 706943207277.
Ozark Trail tabletop camping stove

The BG2247A1 model of the Ozark Trail camping stove was recalled in late 2025. It came after issues linked to the butane canister connections & at least 26 fire or explosion cases were documented.
There were 16 injuries that included second-degree burns on users. Retailers offered a full refund for the affected products.
Oster French door toaster countertop ovens

Four models of Oster’s French Door Toaster Countertop Ovens were recalled in September 2025, including TSSTTVFDXL & TSSTTVFDDGDS. The issue primarily came from the spring-loaded glass doors swinging shut without warning, causing burns. There were over 100,000 units sold in Canada alone.
Recliner chairs with USB ports

Be careful with where you sit because the Canadian government officially recalled Babyletto’s Kiwi recliners following claims that the USB charging modules could overheat & cause burns.
All recalled models included the SKU M11288WBG, and officials warned people to stop using them immediately.
