Love is the cornerstone of every healthy relationship, but sometimes, it’s more about what you do than what you say. If you’ve ever found your relationship to be “off,” it might be more than a bad patch. It’s easy to be under the radar & not know whether your partner sincerely loves you or not. I’ve seen friends go through this & maybe you’ve noticed it too — little signs that say it’s not meant to be. Here are 11 common signs that might mean there’s no love left in your relationship.

Emotional Neglect
When your partner rejects or squints at your emotions, it’s an alarm. Emotional neglect can include not listening to you or saying, “It’s not a big deal,” when you’re really hurting. As time passes, you will feel alone & ignored because they aren’t thinking of your emotional well-being.
Avoiding Physical Affection
When we are in love, there is often physical proof of care — such as a hug, kiss or even a calming touch. If your partner doesn’t always bring you in or initiate a romantic act, this might be an indicator of disengagement or distance. It’s not only about s*x – little acts of connection can also mean the world.
Frequent Criticism
Positive feedback is a part of the human experience, but constant criticism can be like a personal attack on you. If your partner is picking on you about your habits, preferences or personality & doesn’t support or empathize, that may not be true love or respect.
Stonewalling
This is when your spouse shuts up or doesn’t respond when they are in a conflict. They might also slough off or never discuss something instead of sorting things out. When you are stonewalled, it becomes impossible to resolve differences & develop as a team.
Lack of Effort
Healthy partnerships demand both parties put in the work & if your partner does not pitch in emotionally, physically, or even logistically, they might just be leaving the party. From forgetting important dates to not asking about your life, the aloofness in the relationship makes it seem one-sided.
Prioritizing Everything Else
It’s normal to be busy, but if work, friends or hobbies are always ahead of you, it might indicate where they’re really at. Relationships are built on attention & time, and when you are neglected constantly, you feel like nothing.
Disrespecting Boundaries
The relationship between you needs respect – respect for boundaries. If your spouse turns a blind eye to your demands or puts you in uncomfortable positions, it could be a sign that they don’t care about your well-being. You need boundaries to have a happy, healthy relationship.
Secretive Behavior
The faithful spouse prizes honesty. If they’re a little shady about their phone, whereabouts or activities, it destroys trust. Privacy is valuable, but if you keep everything a secret, you may disrespect the relationship.
Indifference Toward Your Achievements
When someone loves you, they cheer on your triumphs, big or small. If your partner responds to your achievements with a lack of care or, worse, envy – they may not be invested in your well-being or growth.
Gaslighting
The sycophancy here makes you doubt whether what you’re feeling is real. If your partner always says it’s “all in your head” or you’re “thinking too much,” then maybe they’re not truly loving you or the relationship.
Using Love as a Bargaining Tool?
Some people abuse love for the wrong reasons. Statements like “If you loved me, you’d…” or withholding affection as punishment can create a toxic dynamic. Real love is unconditional.
