11 simple things women notice that reduce attraction after 50

Attraction in a mature relationship has little to do with being perfect and more to do with habits, mindset, and emotional qualities that make someone attractive to be around.

Slouching shoulders, bending over, and dragging the feet make a man appear lazy, insecure, and aged. Standing tall and walking with intention projects youthful vitality and confidence that attracts people.

It’s one of the fastest ways to visually communicate to a woman that a man still has stamina.

Constant complaining

Making every conversation revolve around his pains, illnesses, or how awesome life used to be can really kill the mood on a date.

While it’s totally fine to mention health occasionally, chronic negativity makes a man tiresome to hang out with. Women like partners who view the world with enthusiasm and wonder.

Rigid routines

Insisting on doing things at the exact time one normally does can show that one may be resistant to trying new things.

Immediately declining the offer to try someplace new to eat, visit somewhere he has never been before, or switching up weekend plans can make his life feel stale. Being open to small adventures shows that a man is youthful and spontaneous.

Defensive listening

Getting easily offended or acting superior during what should be an effortless chat can snuff out romance.

Confidence at this age is demonstrated by listening to opposing views without being petty or argumentative. Men who take conflict and discuss it with an open mind are emotionally mature and very attractive.

When men let the little things start to slip by them, whether it’s trimming that nose hair, shaving a messy beard, or flossing between their teeth, women know they have given up on themselves.

When a guy takes the time to clean up and look sharp, it shows that he respects himself and wants to look good for his partner.

Outdated style

Dressing in things that are completely raggedy, excessively oversized, or from another generation makes a man seem outdated.

He doesn’t have to follow trendy clothes that teenagers are wearing, but wearing clean, fitted, modern clothes lets her know that he cares about today and that he has a keen sense of current self-awareness and style.

Low stamina

Showing no desire to be active, go for walks, or keep himself in shape can raise red flags about tomorrow. A partner who cares about their health assures their partner that they will have the energy to enjoy life, travel, and create active memories together for many years.

A man doesn’t have to be a hyper-intense athlete, but he should at least try.

Dominating conversations

Talking nonstop about oneself, their old stories, or achievements will leave a date feeling like it was all one-sided. True charm means allowing conversation to ebb and flow.

It means asking questions and showing that he cares about learning about her life, as well. Conversation should be a game of catch, not a non-stop lecture.

Tech helplessness

Giving up on when it comes to learning or using everyday technology or bad-mouthing phones and apps only leaves one frustratingly behind.

Being able to read a digital menu, shoot a text, or check a map proves he is keeping up with the world around him. It demonstrates he can handle daily life independently without needing someone to take care of him.

Lack of purpose

If a man has no hobbies or passions outside of TV and sleep, he can come across as very bland. Whether it’s woodworking, volunteering at an animal shelter, playing guitar, or working on cars, everyone should have something that gets them fired up.

A man who has purpose in his life is instantly more interesting to talk to.

Financial bitterness

Talking about past divorces that made you angry or lost money or questioning someone about what they’ll gain from your bank account, breeds instant distrust.

Walking into a relationship worried or angry about money issues will make a woman feel insecure instead of secure. Preventing old money grudges from entering the conversation will allow things to flow freely, feel safe, and be positive.
