10 signs someone might need a life outside the internet

Some people are just a little too available. They’re the ones who respond immediately & have opinions on everything. Technically, there’s nothing wrong with it, but it suggests they don’t have much going on. Here are ten dead giveaways that someone doesn’t have a life. How many of these have you noticed yourself?

They correct typos on Instagram captions

These people always notice when you’ve written “your” instead of “you’re.” Suddenly, they’re on a mission, but not in a friendly way either. They’ll reply “*you’re” under a random stranger’s post, just because they can. Who made them the teacher? Not us, that’s for sure.

They keep replying to brand emails

Lots of people delete promo emails. Some people ignore them. Then, there’s that one person who replies to them. They’ll say things like, “Your discount code doesn’t apply to organic oat milk & that’s misleading.” But it’s just an email bot. It’s not going to turn around and say, “You know what, Brenda, you’re right.” It’s a one-way conversation.

They get into long arguments with bots

That’s not all for bots. You’ll see these people on social media, going back & forth with a bot. It’s pretty clear that the account was made 20 minutes ago. They have zero followers and random letters in the name, with no photo. But this person’s fired up. They’ll reply four times in a row because they think they’re proving a point. Except there’s no person on the other end.

They remember every minor character from TV shows

They’re the kind of people who know everything about a TV show. Everything. They’ll remember that guy from Season 3 who showed up once to fix a printer. But it’s not just that. They’ll tell you that this guy came back in Season 6 as a pizza guy. How many times have they watched this? Probably too many. Background extras aren’t supposed to have arcs.

They get upset when online polls don’t go their way

You might’ve seen someone rant about online polls. And we don’t mean serious ones. It’s stuff like tuna beating grilled cheese in a “Top 10 Sandwiches” poll. They’ll DM friends & start threads about it. Maybe even make a graphic. Meanwhile, everyone else just picked one & moved on. But they refuse to give up.

They regularly clean up comment sections

They’re not moderators & they’re not admins. But they’re in every YouTube comment. They’ll tell trolls to “grow up,” and they’ll defend the video like they made it themselves. No one asked, of course. However, they’re there because they’re emotionally invested. It’s not like they have anything else going on.

They always know when someone unfollows them

Someone unfollows, and they’re on it immediately. It doesn’t even have to be someone close. That girl they met once at a party in 2018? They’ll say, “I can’t believe she unfollowed me. I literally commented on her vacation post.” For them, unfollowing is a betrayal & they might text a friend just to vent about it. No one else notices. But they do.

They join Facebook groups just to argue

They’re not in the group to help or enjoy anything. Nope, they’re there to disagree. It doesn’t matter if it’s a group about instant pot recipes or a neighborhood lost & found. Somehow, they’ll find a post to argue under. And we don’t mean debate, but genuinely argue. Everyone else ignores it. However, this person will come back 6 hours later to respond to replies.

They check who viewed their LinkedIn profile multiple times a day

Jobs don’t matter. Nor does networking. Nope, this person checks their LinkedIn the same way people check their Instagram likes. They’ll mention how a recruiter from Canada looked at them twice this week. Then, they’ll check again an hour later. But they’re not doing anything with the information. It’s just there.

They reply to every notification instantly

You talk to them, and suddenly they’re just gone. Not physically. They’re staring at their phone. Some random app just pinged, and now it has their full attention. It doesn’t even matter what it is, like a weather app or promo from something they forgot they had. They’re still opening it. They check everything & it’s kind of impressive. And a little much.
