What’s your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

This question is easy and open-ended. It allows your date to tell you about what they like to do when they have free time or just want to relax or have some fun. You may also be able to determine if they’re outdoorsy or more of a homebody.
Do you have a go-to coffee shop or spot you like to hang out at?

We all have a favorite local joint or two. Asking your date this question will allow you to get into a relaxed conversation about favorite local spots, and it may even help you plan a second date.
What kind of music do you usually listen to when you’re driving or just chilling?

Since music is part of everyday life, this is an easy question to answer, and will get you to know them better. You’ll get a better idea of what they like, and it could spark conversation about concerts, favorite bands or silly music stories.
Mornings or Nights? What’s your usual routine?

This is a fairly lighthearted question that lets you know how they spend their time without being too nosey. It’s also a great opportunity to joke about being an early bird or a night owl.
Have you watched any good shows or movies lately?

This is also a super common, simple question. Everyone has some sort of answer for this question. It’s also safe, relatable, and you may even get some good, funny recommendations.
Do you enjoy cooking, or are you more of a takeout kind of person?

Food. It’s a daily thing. Plus, it’s no pressure. This is a fun, light question. Bonus points if they launch into a story about their favorite meal they made, a funny failure story in the kitchen, or their go-to local spot.
What’s something you’re looking forward to in the next few months?

This one is all positive and future-focused. It’s not too heavy on big life goals, either. It might be a trip or another kind of event, or it could be something they’re working on that’s not necessarily a planned thing.
Do you and your mom have a good relationship, or is it more of a love/hate thing?

Family dynamics can get pretty complicated, however, the answer to this question will let your date be honest about the good, the bad, or the silly, and also give you a glimpse into their life.
Have you always lived around here, or did you move from somewhere else?

A lot of people enjoy talking about where they are from or how they ended up in the place they currently reside. Perhaps they were there for school, work, or maybe they just needed a fresh start. It is a great way to get a general idea of their past without digging too deep too quickly.
What do you like to do to relax when you’re not working?
